SIMPLE BODY CARE ROUTINE FOR GLOWING SKIN

Oftentimes when people hear the word ‘skincare’, what comes to mind is the face and everything needed to take care of it…which of course isn’t a bad thing but then…
Taking care of the body (from the neck down) is as important as caring for the face.
Achieving beautiful, radiant, soft, supple skin isn’t difficult, you just have to do the right thing to get the best results. It’s a 50/50 thing, 50% depends on the products and 50% depends on the routine.

A SIMPLE BODYCARE ROUTINE

Achieving beautiful skin doesn’t have to be complicated. Just follow these five steps and you’ll be good to go.

1. CLEANSE
The first step to achieving healthy skin is always a clean base. It’s simple. Wash your skin. Get rid of grime & sweat. Choosing a cleanser doesn’t have to be much of a chore. Get something that won’t strip your skin of it’s natural moisture, something with hydrating & moisturizing ingredients.
If you like cleansers that smell heavenly, this is also your chance. Overall, make sure you choose a cleanser that you’re comfortable with and resonates with your skin needs.

Avoid soaps. Soaps have a high PH of about 8-10 while that of the skin is about 4.5-5.5. Soaps will strip your skin of moisture, thereby creating an imbalance in your skin barrier.
Get a good body wash, shower gel or cleansing bars (not bar soaps) and you are good to go.

Here Are Our Top Cleansing Recommendations
• Dove beauty bar – 4-in-1 pack
• FaceFacts ceramide Hydrating Body Wash – 400ml
• St Ives Oatmeal And Shea Butter Body Wash – 650ml
• Dove Nourishing Secrets Glowing Ritual Body Wash - 750ml
• Advanced Korean Skin Bright And Clear Body Gel Wash – 1200ML

2. EXFOLIATE
The skin is constantly regenerating new cells and the old cells need to make way for the new cells, but as we age, the process becomes slower. Build up of dead skin leads to skin that looks dull and lacks luster. This is where exfoliation comes in.
Exfoliation is the process of getting rid of dead skin cells using either a physical or chemical exfoliant to get rid of dead skin cells on the surface of the skin, thereby revealing smoother, radiant skin.

If you hate the idea of body scrubs and can’t stand them, you can opt for chemical exfoliants that come in form of lotions, serums, mists or body washes.
You only need to exfoliate 1-3 times a week. Exfoliating everyday can disrupt your skin barrier and damage your skin.

Here Are Our Top Exfoliant Picks
• Kuu Spa Turmeric Salt Scrub Bath Scrub – 450ml
• Medix Glycolic Acid + Lactic Acid Skin Perfecting Body Wash – 444mL

3. MOISTURIZE
After cleansing and exfoliating the skin, one thing is certain, YOU NEED TO BRING BACK MOISTURE TO YOUR SKIN. Moisturizers provide your skin with just the right ingredients and nutrient it needs at the moment. Your body lotions and creams fall under this category.

If you have specific skin concerns like hyperpigmentation or need to brighten your skin, opt for lotions that contains ingredients targeted towards your specific skin needs.
The best time to moisturize your skin is immediately after you shower while your skin is still damp. This would help lock in those extra moisture.

Here Are Our Top Moisturizer Picks
• St. Ives Softening Coconut & Orchid Body Lotion – 621 ml
• Olay Smoothing Body Lotion With Retinol 24 – 502ml

4. SEAL
Now that you have applied your favorite body moisturizer. You want to seal in all that goodness. Body oils and butters fall under this category.

Sealing basically means to lock in moisture in your skin. Their job is to prevent Trans-epidermal Water Loss (TEWL) so that your skin doesn’t dry out due to external factors.

This isn’t a compulsory step but I highly recommend.
They are wonderful support for your moisture barrier and can be very healing and anti-inflammatory for severely, dry, cracked or irritated skin.

Wearing sunscreen is the most vital body care step you need to achieve healthy skin. They help ward off signs of premature aging like dark spots and wrinkles, plus help decrease the risk of skin cancer.

Protect your skin at all cost.

When picking a sunscreen for your body, it’s best you pick something that comes in a larger quantity so it can last you a longer time.
